Ezzel a minibusszal jártuk meg a safarit./This was our minibus on the safari.
We couldn’t sleep too much because we had our breakfast at 6 am. We ate omlette, than pineapple and drank milky coffee. We felt immediately that they don’t match together.I was lucky, it didn’t cause any problem to me but unfortunatelly Laura had an upset stomach and wasn’t easy for her to take part on the game drive today and it took a few hours before she relieved. The place of the game drive wasn’t far away from our accommodation and we drove about 4 hours on the steppe. We saw a lot of waterhogs, buffalos, Uganda kobs, buschbucks and a few baboons but there wasn’t any sign of elefants, lions, hyenas though they were promissed. Despite of this it was a special experiment to be here. The animals were grazing peacefully among the cactustrees and it would have been good to get off the car and mingle with them. Unfortunatelly this was prohibited.
We returned to our accomodation for lunch and after we left for an afternoon boat trip. We went to the Queen Elizebeth National Park and we went on a two-hour cruise along the Kazinga channel which connects the Lake Edward and Lake George. We hoped catching sight of the thirsty elefants who go to drink to the water but we were out of luck again. But there were lots of hippos in the water, we saw crocodils and many birds as well. On the way home we saw some elefants in the distance but they didn’t want to come closer so we waited in vain.
I have seen these and similar animals in zoos, but there was completely different seeing them without restriction, in their own life conditions where they enjoy to be. I am really happy, that I was here and I could glance a little bit into their life.
